Exclusive Server Rental Application

For major scientific research projects, research groups can submit exclusive server rental applications. Special requirements need to be reviewed by the ITCRF User Committee.

Application Channels​

  • DingTalk OA Approval - HPC AI Computing Platform Service Application - Application for Entire Server Rental
  • Fill in according to the application form template in OA Approval, and have it signed by the responsible teacher and uploaded

Applications That Do Not Require ITCRF User Committee Review​

Exclusive server rental requests meeting the following conditions do not require committee review:

  • Apply for CPU server exclusive rental
  • Number of GPU server exclusive rentals = 1 server, and duration ≤ 2 months

To ensure fair allocation of GPU resources:

  • Each research group is allowed to have only one GPU exclusive server rental at a time
  • The HPC team has the right to stop allocating exclusive server rentals during periods of tight supply and demand based on cluster queue status

Applications That Require ITCRF User Committee Review​

The HPC team will submit collected exclusive server rental applications to the ITCRF User Committee for review every six months (January and July), and allocate resources based on the committee's feedback. Exclusive server rental requests meeting the following conditions require committee review:

  • Number of GPU server exclusive rentals > 1 server
  • Exclusive server rental duration > 2 months, in principle not exceeding 6 months

Exclusive Server Rental Recovery​

  • After allocation, the HPC team has the right to recover server rentals in advance during periods of tight resource supply and demand to alleviate queue congestion.
  • After allocation, if the HPC team monitors that the server is underutilized for a long period, it has the right to recover the exclusive server rental resources to avoid waste.
  • In case of early recovery, the HPC team will notify the research group teacher one week in advance.
