Server Rental Application
Members of HKUST(GZ) requiring server resources for research or teaching purposes may apply for server rental services.
Application Process
Submit a Server Rental Request via the HPC AI Computing Platform Service Application form in the One-Stop Service Portal or DingTalk OA approval system. The HPC Team will allocate resources based on cluster availability.

-
Upon resource allocation, the HPC Team will notify the applicant of the deployment status, confirm the rental start date, and initiate billing.
-
During peak resource demand, requests may be fulfilled in batches or queued based on submission order.
- Applicants must carefully evaluate resource needs to avoid over-requesting and resource waste.
- To ensure fairness, the maximum rental duration shall not exceed one year.
Usage Guidelines
The HPC Team will create queues/resource pools for rented servers. Users must specify these queues/pools when submitting computational tasks.
Only user accounts under the supervising faculty team may access the rented servers. Unauthorized users are strictly prohibited.
Return Process
The HPC Team will contact applicants via email prior to lease expiration to confirm resource return.
For confirmed returns, users must:
- Verify data deletion
- Specify the exact return date
Lease Extension
To maintain resource fairness, lease extensions are generally not permitted.
Special cases may qualify for one extension only, with a maximum duration of three months.
